A Stitch in Time

Successful stylist and costume designer, Natalie Chanin, of the notable Alabama Chanin, uses traditional sewing skills from the past to create modern, sustainable designs for fashion and home. Chanin has combined her runway experience in NYC and 22 years abroad, along with her southern roots to create an eco-clothing line that expresses warm, hand-stitched tones of originality.

The garments crafted from organic and recycled fabrics incorporate quilting, embroidery, and have a policy of zero waste. Each stencil design and pattern is a flowing work of art. This past August Chanin was named one of 10 finalists for the prestigious Council of Fashion Designers of America, the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund. It has been a long journey for this talented Alabama native, but with each stitch forward she remembers, life is in the details.
